Ok I was out checking around one of the ponds on our lease, and I found some sort of den. I didnt have my camera on me at the time but will try to get a pic next time I go out.

Anyway It is a hole in the ground almost the size of a basketball, with a big rock up on top of where the den would be. I didnt really feel like trying to disturb it at the time since I didnt have a gun with me or anything, and would have hated for a momma coyote or something to come firing out of there protecting her babies.

It wouldnt be a snake den would it? Seemed like a pretty big hole for snakes. So I figured probably either fox or coyote, but we have seen zero signs of yotes anywhere on the place.

Anyways what do you use to drive stuff out of dens? I always hear people talk about "gassing" them out, what kind of gas is used for this?

Sounds like a yote den. That's exactly what they look like at my place, but it could clearly be a fox as well.

I think your prognostics are accurate.

If you can't see any tracks, sprinkle some flour around the opening in a big area (so it can't jump over) and then wait a day or so to see what tracks it left. Then it should be easy to identify.

If its a coyote den you won't have to worry bout gassing the den they are already gone. You get that close to the den and they will move on.
