I pulled into the office this morning and back behind our building was an 8 point buck, and 2 does. I know for most that this is nothing to get excited about-but it bears mention that my office sits right on FM 1960, just 1 mile east of Willowbrook mall! This is definitely city life, and the deer are just fine with it. 2 years ago I came in on a Monday morning and there was a dead 6 point in the ditch up front. Apparently he was out on FM 1960 & got hit and thrown into the ditch. I have always known the deer were traveling back behind the office as I have seen many does in the mornings crossing the road back behind us. This is the first live buck I have seen though.

And for those of you wondering-YES!-he does make AR rules!

I would have never thought there would be a deer by Willowbrook Mall, would have surprised me to see one there. (I work a few miles from you, off of 249 just the other side of the beltway.)

Even for city life, this place is still pretty "rural". There are cow pastures behind our office (with actual cows in them!), and also more cows/cow pastures right off of Cutten rd, which is directly behind the mall. There is an area where I ride my motorcycle at the corner of Beltway 8, and 249, behind the Shell gas station, and I have seen deer out there numerous times.

Plus, if anyone remembers there was that monster buck killed a couple years back on FM 1960 about 5 miles east of here over by the golf course.

They are definitely here, and have adjusted to living amongst us. How obvious would it be to put a corn feeder up right behind the shop.....?

Yeah I have seen the pastures off of Cutten when I go to lunch. I was just surprised there was deer over in that area but I do remember the buck on the golf course. We've got an extra 7acres next to our building now and if I start seeing deer around here I will put a feeder up.
