Just curious as to what everyone is watching or not watching when it comes to outdoor television these days. I'll kick things off...

Best - Jim Shockey

His hunts are an adventure, and he's a very likeable personality with a great sense of humor. Great as Jim is though, his father and father-in-law are even better - if you ever saw the episode where they hunted bears together you'd understand...grin

Worst - Buckmasters/Jackie Bushman Show

It was a hard choice (Hank Parker & the Warren Brothers were neck-in-neck with their product pitches) but when it comes right down to it Jackie Bushman is in a league of his own. By the way, never enter the Buckmasters Hunt Give Away - you'll be bombarded with phone calls for the rest of your life...

It's hard to pick a favorite, I like Bucks of Tecamate, Whitetail freaks, Drop zone, Drury brother, most all of them with the exception of Jimmy Big Time.

Worst show is WildGame Nation Show and anything by the Drury Brothers adn Jackie Bushmans shows next. The Best are shows like Primos Truth About Whitetails, Jim Shockey, Mossy Oaks Hunting the Country and I do like the TTHA Trophy Hunters Show for the show but not some other things.

Best: Road Trips, and Shockey
Worst: Jimmy Big Time, what a waste of air time.

I can't hardly stand to watch any of them now. I used to be glued to them all day. I just don't like what most of them are about and the message they spread.

With the exception of Jim Shockey (and a handful of others), I personally can't stand most of them. Thank God for the dvr. That way I can skip most of the garbage that many of these programs are filled with and get right to the heart of the matter (no pun intended). However, I will NOT watch that 'Arrow Affliction' (or Addiction or whatever the heck it is). That guy is an annoying, over-the-top weirdo.

As side note, I am so sick of the phrase "when in doubt, back out" I will happily b**** the first guy at deer camp who says this smile

BEST - Jim Shokey...by far the most professional hunter on TV!

WORST - ALL the HUSBAND & WIFE or BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND shows! ! !

I like gun it for the entertainment, but for the hunting I would have to go with shokey.

In the opening of one show a guy shoots the animal and lays down on the mountain and starts screaming. Watched his a couple of time and couldn't stand him.

I know I said hunting shows, but I have to give props to my favorite fishing show as well: The Hunt for Big Fish w/ Larry Dahlberg.

Truly this show is all about the fishing, and Larry is very knowledgeable on the subject - if you haven't checked out his DVD I suggest you do.

On Your Own Adventures and Tred Barta are my two personal favorites. I dislike the husband/wife and/or hot girlfriend hunting shows. I'm more into the "average Joe" hunters who plan and hunt like I would. I also dislike the hunt shows that are just one big informercial pushing products...I realize their paying the bills...it's just a little over-the-top sometimes. Also, the rock-star background music hunt shows bother me sometimes. My two cents. soap

what about "deer thugs"?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

The only one I ever liked was On Your Own Adventures. I hope they bring it back for another season.

If their hunting in Africa, I'm glued to any of the shows. Gotta agree with Shockey being the best. I'm sorry, but Ted Nugent takes his "addiction" of hunting WAY to far.
