10/21 evening - framing is very close to being done. As you look at the pic below, there will only be 2nd floor living space on the right side of the house. Basically a bunk room and bath upstairs for the kids (5 grandsons at this point for the in-laws). You can see on the left side where the attic entrance is from the garage. There will be a stairway leading up to a nice, big decked area.

10/21 evening - a view across the living area towards 2 bedrooms & a bath downstairs and the bunk room upstairs. Underneath where the pic was taken is the Master, another guest room and bath, the kitchen, and laundry area.

just a recap, basically, 2 weeks ago (10/11/2010) we were bare slab and steel being delivered

Here are the pics I got this morning (10/25/2010). Exterior sheating is on, Tyvek wrapped, and about ready for the stone. The garage on the left will be stone on the bottom of the wall and metal siding above.

10/25 - the stirway is in for the bunk room

10/25 view across the great room / kitchen from the bunk room to the attic space. Below is the master on the right, a guest room on the left, and the laundry/mud/office behind the kitchen

10/25 - attic crawl space above the entryway. I having everything decked sure will be nice.

10/25 - an "add on" that I requested last week. The ceiling from the bedroom my wife and I claimed is right below the bunk room where all the kids will be sleeping. I asked them to insulate the ceiling for us... Good call, eh?

electrical, plumbing, etc, etc were supposed to start arriving today or tomorrow.

as of 10/30

The garage. Stairway leads up to the attic

Fireplace. Will be stone to match the exterior, all the way up to the ceiling

View up to the bunk room from the dining area. Tongue & groove ceiling in the great room is in. Sheet rock going in. The fireplace is on the left side

View of the kitchen area from the dining area. All of the mechanicals are in the attic already

Exterior stone going on

They are moving along pretty good. They were supposed to finish taping & floating this morning (11/1), and the painters are starting the texture / paint this afternoon or tomorrow.

I'm just amazed at how fast things are moving. It's only been about 3 weeks since they started.

Bet it is a great time to build. Contractors aren't as busy jumping from job to job.

11/8 - outside almost complete

11/8 view from the rear, including the fire pit

11/8 - fireplace stone work

11/8 - kitchen stone work matches the fireplace

11/8 I didn't realize that the tiles for the backsplash areas basically copied the stone work from the outside.

This thing is getting pretty close. I have more pics from this afternoon, but I need to go to bed. I'll download and post tomorrow evening

I'm not kidding when I say it was a madhouse up there. While we were there, the painters were finishing up, the tile guys were doing their work, the masons were finishing their part, and the trim carpenters were working on their stuff. There were 20-30 guys working like busy bees knocking tasks out. Having the GC on-site every day, all day really keeps things moving (and keeps the quality of the work up)
