Very sad and broken-hearted today with the loss of my great friend and hunting partner Johnny Hoedebeck of Royse City,Tx. this morning. Johnny,opening morning is for you.Gonna smoke me a big ole buck for you then have a few cold ones Saturday night in your' memory. We will hunt together again one day.

Sorry For your loss buddy! 2 year's ago last month we lost Richard Murphy! I went to my ranch to set up stand's and Mark and Richard Went to their ranch to trim tree's and get ready and I got the call on the way back that Richard had a heart attack in the shower when he got home! Never seen or heard anything like my stepdad(56yo mark) screaming and crying at the hospital. Hunting just wasn't the same that year! Best of luck to you this season and may all of our loved ones Rest in Peace!

i tell you what man, the best thing for you to do this season is to celebrate his life, not mourn his death. i'm sure he would want you to be hunting big bucks, just like you are doing.
Hunt for you and him this season, and remember, this is what you guys loved to do. soak up every minute and enjoy the memories that you guys created together.

I've seen many good hunting buddies pass in all my 35 years of enjoying the sport. They always leave you with memories that will last forever. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry about the loss of your hunting partner. Honor him by getting out there and doing what yall loved doing together. It will be tough at times and there will be a hole but hang in there. I hope you smoke a big one this weekend. Good luck.

So sorry to hear this. Also lost a good hunting buddy, Shawn, this spring.
When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.

I tell you what, I have known Johnny for 20 years and I can honestly say there was never a conversation between us that he didnt make me laugh. I hadnt seen Johnny for a few years, but finally had the opportunity to join him and some others on their annual offshore fishing trip. Of course, we had a blast and it wouldnt have been the same without Johnny. He was opne of a kind.
