The bucks were definitely chasing does this weekend in Deleon(comanche county). They would start coming out around 9 a.m. and we saw them til noon on saturday. I culled out a would be 6 point Sunday morning. He broke off during velvet and just had a nub. huge body. Can't wait for this weekend, no moon and low temperature.

All I saw was young Bucks on the prowl and chasing Doe's. Appears the Bucks are ready but the Doe's aren't. Won't be long and the big boys will step out and take over. Been slow at our place with all the acorns on the ground, just not much movement at all.

i think it is real close. One of my does purposely pee'd right next to these two bucks. they both smelled it, and the one i shot, raised his body and was ready to fight but the younger one didn't want anything to do with it. he made his scrape right after that. it must just now be starting b/c i had 4 weeks with not a single buck on my camera, and then i saw 4 this weekend.

Yes, I have pictures of an 8 pt that is mature and his neck is very swollen. To the bucks it is on.

Deer in fort bend county have been chasing hard for about two weeks. I see it starting to slow down a little this week so far! Bummer, since next weekend is gun opener!

My son shot his first buck this weekend. Younger 8 with a 19 inch neck. Younger bucks starting here in the hill country but does don't seem to be ready?
