Does anyone have storys like this? I took my 8yr. old daughter out on her frist deer hunt this year. After leting her know that this wasn't a hunting show like she watches on TV.you may not see anything and thinking to my self any deer would be good for her first.Opening morning of youth hunt 15 min. after light as if on que a nice buck walks out 45yds. and waits around for her to get the muzzleloader and everything ready.after feilddress and scoring. She had taken a 135 class ten point. The buck won a free shoulder mount. Then if that wasn't enough TX. Big Game informed me that she had won a comp. drawing for a free life time hunting lic.Hows that for a frist deer.

Congrats! I saw the announcement in the Dallas Morning News last week. Tell ole Ray he jipped you by 5 points! Story: 8-year-old earns earns lifetime hunting license Eight-year-old Bethani Scott of Mesquite had a memorable hunting season. Hunting with her father, Richard Scott, during the special youth-only deer weekend, Bethani bagged her first whitetail buck, a Coryell County deer that scored 130 Boone and Crockett points. The Scotts had the buck scored and made an early entry in the Texas Big Game Awards. Then Bethani's name was drawn for the TBGA grand prize, a lifetime hunting license valued at $600.

I got one similar
My girlfriend went with me on a trip at the end of this year so that i had some company at the camp because everyone else had to work. It was decided that if possible she would shoot a doe. WE went down on a tuesday afternoon and I ended up killing a nice eight point, Instead of going home like i figured she would want too we stayed to hunt the next morning so that weould try and kill a couple of does to take the meat back to school. we saw a few deer and low and behold she took a shot on a doe and got it. It was the first deer that she had ever killed and told me after that that i had to take her hunting with me from now on and that she wants to shoot a buck now.
Guess it all works out great because i dont have to come up with excuses to disappear to go and hunt now. I can just bring her along

Thanks for all the comments guys. I let her read them with me (witch I think she likes the attention more than shooting the deer).
jtjrz71 that is a great thing to have happen as long as your girfriend likes going you should be set. It's nice to tell my wife I realy don't want to go hunting this weekend BUT Bethani wants to and after all I should spend more time with her.
