Do you all think that four wheelers effect the hunting? we have some guys on our place that see it both ways.

Do you guys allow them or not?

We allow them. I have seen many reactions from deer to 4 wheelers, but the reactions aren't much different than what I have seen from trucks and other vehicles. From other post on this site, I know some of the hunters park one directly under their stand.

It just lets the deer know you are there. They probably know it anyway, but ive seen the deer perk up when the wheeler is fired up. If doable I would rather have a quiet golfcart ; pending the terrain etc

golf carts are worse in our hood.... would spend more time going and getting folks that ran out of juice or got the things stuck like chuck. anyone that uses one with us knows that if either of the two occurs, they are going to have to hop on the Chippewa express b/c I'm not coming to get them. (Same thing with UTVs in the lower bottoms)

Put a feeder on a couple of them and they start seeing them as a good thing.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I don't like them and they are not allowed on one of my leases. I don't know that it scares the deer any more than a truck does but what I do know is that it can be ridden lots more places than a truck can. Places that would normally go undisturbed tend to have 4 wheeler tracks through them if allowed.

i was wondering if the golf carts got stuck easy. i have been considering getting one but they do weigh a lot due to the batteries.

I wouldn't allow them! Don't need the ruts off across the pastures.

the general rule is one 4wheeler trail in the pasture.... any other ruts and someone is getting ripped a new one.

I have seen it both ways. Been on places where people used them to get to stands and retrieve game and had no problems. Been on places where people played on them alot and scare the h**l out of the deer.

It is what it is and it will be allright.

I feel the same, my uncle got one. Just to use when it was too wet to get the truck in there... year right, that thing runs all over the place, there isnt a spot he hasnt driven that thing yet, ruts and trils through everything.

Most useful tool I have is my four wheeler! I use it for all my lease duties. I had deer blowing at mine the other day where I parked it about 300 yrds from my stand and the deer kept coming in. Like anything else the deer get used to it like any other traffic. We are in their woods and they arent going anywhere, they just wait for them to pass and its over in just minutes like nothing ever happend.
