Anyone on here varmint/hog hunt around these area's? Is there any ranches around to do this at? I have a nice place out in East Tx....but the drive kills me just to go get a hog. Wondering if there was anywhere closer to do some hog and varmint hunts? Hog=meat Varmints=wall

thee is one guy out of colombus that advertises on craigslist for day hunts, STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE, it is not a ranch, just a guy advertises 100 acres and has 5 with 5 feeders,
avid deer hunter that is disable but God has still blessed me.

Im from Columbus, mainly in the migratory bird section but I'm starting to venture out. Not sure if I'm gonna be any help to you but if you can, somehow contact some rice farmers out of garwood, eagle lake area. Sometimes they have HUGE problems with hogs. As a matter of fact the rice farmer on our lease got together with some other farmers and hired what they called a "hog asassin" some guys out of houston came out with a chopper and a machine gun. They killed a little over 300 pigs and 150 of those were out of one rice field. I don't know any details but i know the farmers hate hogs.
Also the guy that advertises on Craigslist does have a ranch, the Heffley Ranch to be exact. Not sure exactly what he offers but he does have alot of pigs out there. There's also some rice fields that are farmed just about a mile north of their place. Its a good area.

maybe in wharton if you know of any ranches there. not too far from eagle lake.
