Served with rice or not?
Topped with Cheddar cheese and onions?
Do you add ketchup to your bowl before eating?
Crackers or cornbread?
I cheat and use Carrol Shelby's ready mix with a couple of additions.
Any of you have a good chili recipe?

All the above!!!!! You simply can't make a pot of chili that I won't eat. We had this discussion at our last NSTRA trial. I once cooked all the lunches for our trials. Fred R once brought a whole frozen boneless leg of venision to my house. I have the cheap grinder which clogs, but it did fine with the half frozen meat. We cooked up a big pot of chili which would feed two field trials. We ran out. Put a can of refreid beans at the end, not matter what recipe you use. The beans will take on any flavor, and thicken the chili. Mesa flour will make it bland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chili_con_carne

No beans in chili! I like it with Zesta crackers and a little cheddar cheese.

Sometime I add beans and sometimes not. I like it either way. My wife insists that it be served over rice. I'll eat it that way, but prefer it without. Cheese and onions is good addition from time to time, usually better when served with the rice and the chili is made with beans. Cornbread or crackers, either is good. Jalapeno cornbread is better. Also like a hunk of fresh baked beer bread with chili. Never heard of adding ketchup to bowl before eating. Must not have used enough tomato paste when making it to want to add ketchup to the bowl? Cannot recall ever having a bad bowl of chili, just some better than others.

Only a Yankee would put ketchup or beans in chili! Can of chili, NO BEANS, boiling bag of rice, grated cheddar cheese and crackers have made many a quick easy filling meal at our deer camp. I know, I know, canned can't compare to home made or kit chili but at deer camp I ain't going to spend a couple of hours cooking.

Anyone ever had it with noodles? I have a buddy that will only eat it like that...weird!!! They do that up in Ohio. Give me a bowl of chili, no beans, some cheese, some onion, and I'm good to go. Leftovers get made into frito pie, chili burgers, or chili dogs.

As long as it is cold outside and hot and spicy I don't care. The worst I had was damn good.

I'm with Ox, eat is like you want and enjoy. I'm a no beans guy. I like some raw red onion on the side and sometimes I like to spoon chili on a buttered cracker. Oh, an always with sliced pickled jalapenos added to the bowl. It just don't get no better.

This is a crock. The original chili had beans. I'll take mine either way.

Any of you have a good chili recipe? You must have been born in the south.... maybe southern Minnisota??? Chili and crackers Any of that other stuff ain't chili, it's chili and beans, chili and rice, ect. Ya go ta addin cheese and onions ya might as well add fritos and have frito pie... As they say in that Pace commercial... "GET A ROPE!"

I like it any way I can get it... (many applications in life!) I personally love beans in my chili and I'm about as far from being a yankee as you can get. But if yankees can cook beans as good as we can in south Texas than more power to 'em! Chili is chili with or without beans! I'm with azcoyote "it's all good"
