I have 3 guns that were left after my Uncle passed. Since they are coming from a family member, what is the best way to ship them?

customer service at Savage said to send UPS and don't label it a firearm.
I just received a gun in the mail and it was bubble wrapped in a long cardboard box.

If they are long guns the USPS will ship them within the state of Texas. If they are handguns and it's within the state of Texas then UPS and tell them it's machine parts if they ask. If out of state you have to use an FFL even if they are gifts from a family member. You can ship a long gun to yourself out of state, but I'm not sure of the protocol on that. The ATF web site covers all of these situations in their faq: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html#shipping-firearms-usps
