While driving thru my neighborhood yesterday I saw a REALLY nice buck about half a mile from my apartment. He was in a patch of land surrounded by houses. I dont know who owns the land, but Im pretty sure its just commercial land that is going to be developed and turned into houses soon. How do I go about finding the property owner and getting permision to hunt in there? Anyone have experience in "suburban hunting"? Any advice would be much appreciated.

You can call the compnay that owns the land to be developed but they usually will say no becouse of the liability factor. But every once in a while you will get a good ol boy on the other side who will say yes with the assurance you will be using a bow and not a gun. Been there done that.

don't mention "seeing" a big buck, just that you wanted to deer hunt it. once it's known a good one is there, you for sure won't get to hunt and they will.

Good luck is all I can say. At the end of our street there is a 400 ac patch of brush and some coastal fields. I know the people that own it and have gone to church with them for a long time, family friends since way back when. I have asked if they hunt, they dont, but still wont let me hunt it, gun or bow, I even promised I would only shoot does, still no. And they arent anti's either, good down home peopl just dont hunt. They agree that there are too many deer for the area but wont hunt them, and wont let others do it on their land either.

I hate to see deer that dont get hunted, makes me feel like they are getting away with something. Oh and they come into my yard and eat off all the trees that I have been sprouting and transplanting to our ranch.
