Hi folks,

I'm new to the boards out here. I've been hunting a few years, still learning about the sport. Anybody like to squirrel hunt out there? I'm interested to know, if anybody has access to some good squirrel habitat around the East Texas area, spec. Tyler/Longview area. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks Again,

TXboy78

you could try the Old Sabine Wma. lots of hardwood bottoms and plenty of squirrels. over 5,000 acres. just get your $48 permit.

Get your APH. Lots of WMA units with some great squirrel hunting within an hour or so of Tyler.
Caddo, Gun Engling, White Oak, Old Sabine, just to name a few.

Anything close in to Weatherford where I can take my 10 year old squirrel hunting? We are in Peaster and just want to get him in the woods and comfortable with his .22

Most WMA's wont allow .22s, so either find some private land or bring the .410.
