I am not sure what the "THF" is, but if it has to do with working the dogs and having some fun (maybe even cooking & drinking beer) I'M IN!
Take a child hunting and you won't be disappointed!

I'm in. I'll have to check my dogs schedule to see if he can fit it in between sleeping, eating and general household destruction though.

I see that we are spread out all over the state. How about, so that it's convenient for everyone, we have it near Forney ,, seriously,, If we could find a place somewhere centrally located, we could train throughout the day and even split up into groups of folks/dogs that are rookies on up to advanced,, water dogs and bird dogs,,, somewhere with a little water,,,,, then have a cookout that night and drink a beer or 13 and tell lies all evening ,,, is that too much to ask

OK, We will have to see just what a lab has that a Weimy does not! {Gotta love Weimy's!}
Hey, that sounds good to me (you bring the utensils).. I can bring some food (just tell me what you like! I happen to like steaks and ribs on the grill, corn on the cob and BBQ brisket) Someone else needs to bring the beer (I am more toward Bud Light Longneck Bottles & NOT the tiny ones either, LOL!!! ) Oh yeah, we really need to get a count so we know how many ppl we are feeding... etc... _____________________________________________
I can only go about 3 or 4 hours away so I am home that night or first thing in the morning.. (Don't forget that I am ALMOST about as East TX as you can get) So, whereever it is, I'd like to see it somewhere that EVERYONE can get to without traveling a gazillion hours (not hard to do in TX I have figured out) *Are kids welcome or do I need to find a sitter?* I bet a sitter would be good! LMAO!
One more Q: How many dogs can we bring? I can bring one of each color of the GSPs (4: 1 white/liver, 1 liver roan, 1 white & black and 1 black roan - I have others, but that is a good start! LOL!) and a male and female Weimy. Or is there a limit on how many I can run at once? Just trying to get a general idea..

Walter, congrats on your pass last weekend at Tejas. I never went over to that flight except early in the morning when they were setting up. I saw the results, I guess it was a tough test. Was it the water that was hard? We were done in flight B by the time you all started your second series.

Eric, the SR set up on land was pretty beafy, but fair.... the first mark was approximately 125 yards and that consist of a live flyer as the memory bird, swing right and a control bird came out from left to right at approximately 85 yards with a HOT blind at 30 yards from the fall.. If your dog didnt mark the fall and created a big hunt he would tresspass boundries and get the hot blind........ and of course the honor to put the iceing on the cake...... The water series was a challenge as well.... The marks were ran by invite..... The blind was through water over a pininsula back on water threw running water to land, threw cover in a channed........ if you did well on your first series and had a great blind then you were invited to run the marks.... Memory bird was infront of dog 40 yards and landed behing a arm in the water (island) the go bird landed to the left of the line out 125 yards over a peninsula back into the water and threw cover to the fall..... It wasnt a give me the pass type test, you had to do good to earn your pass.

dogs that had a so so morning with many handles and didnt do well on the water blind were dismissed... Lucky to mention that we nailed the marks and 2 whistled the land blind... clean runs... The water series i lined the blinf, sat pooch on the bird and tweeted to pick up..... hammered the marks and still waiting for his ribbon........

I three whistled both the land and water blinds. However I had the best line/handling on the water by far. The water blind in our flight was a tough blind. Most dogs (85% or so) were carried to water due to loose land blind judging (in my opinion and the judges also said they were loose and some dogs on on a really thin wire). All dogs failing to get a pass lost it on the water blind.

Eric - Thank you! I work extremely hard on these guys b/c there is only a dozen or so breeders that ACTUALLY do something with the Weims. (Besides show.. but that is another topic).. And, yes, you are very right. 99% of Weims are nothing more than 'barrels on legs' or as I like to say it, FAT LAZY COUCH DOGS! LMAO! So, I guess I should restate my statement from earlier...
what do Labs have that MY Weimy's don't?
My female would retrieve a penny off the ocean floor and she goes for the WCA title of NRD at the end of May. So does my male. Then its onto RD and RDX. That is one of the reasons that I want to get that dog club started, but also want to get together with some ppl that do not have SOOO much drama and politics...
Have we thought about when and where this training day is gunna be? If everyone wants to come here, I have 100 acres and a 5 acre pond at my disposal... I also have plenty of room to store tents and BEER and food! LOL! Just offering....
Take a child hunting and you won't be disappointed!

Eric, the ones that were dropped in our flight were manly those who did poor on the land series and didnt hold a good water blind line, it was tough land,water,land,running water and back on land....... to some of us it was a piece of pie........ with good training....
