taken 10/13 am taken 10/14 am I think the GC is going to send us a pic of different stages of completion. once the building is up, they are really going to kick into high gear. Expected to be complete and ready to move in by Dec 1st.

it's a GC from here in Houston that is a friend of my bro-in-law. Sort of a 1 off deal for him as a favor to the family. He had a little time between projects and is using his subs from here in Houston to do the work.

slab was poured, then the porches and parking area were poured Steel was delivered yesterday, I think it should be erected by the weekend. HA! He said "erect"
24 hours in a day. 24 beers in a case. Coincidence, I think not.

10/14 afternoon. Most of the steel erection done, steel framing for one of the 3 roll-up doors going in. steel framing around the roll-up doors is complete 10/16 morning starting the interior framing 10/16 morning - really making some progress on interior framing 10/16 morning - while the framers are doing their thing, the metal guys are putting the roof on I think I'm going to drive out there tomorrow and check check things out. The builder said this morning that he expects to have it dried in by mid week. At this rate, I'm betting by Tuesday. Those guys are really getting after it.

Looks good!
Dont let that guy in the second pic run off with your deer stand ladder.

I missed the guy on the top of the "ladder". I'd be holding onto the beam for dear life if I were up there. *** They are fast with the framing. I'm looking forward to more build pictures

10/17 - my wife approves of the work done so far 10/17 - looking from the bottom of the hill I've got more pics, just need to finish downloading them from the camera. Also, according to the builder, with continued good weather and no problems, target completion is 11/16...

thanks. I think in the next set or 2 of pics the shape will really start to show. The exterior will be a light colored stone for the house part and a cream colored metal siding for the garage end, with the stone at the bottom of the garage portion also. In the pic below, you can see where they are framing in the fireplace (at the left side, just behind where the guy is standing. I'm not sure how they run the chimney pipes up, I guess they cut out holes in that floor?) The bunk room will be walled off to below and the chimney will be stone all the way up (approx 24 ft ceiling in the great room). For an idea of scale, the stud walls are 10 ft tall.

I have to remind the builder every now and then to send more pics. They are pretty much working daylight to dark:30 to keep things moving on schedule, so he doesn't always think to stop for pictures. He said that when I'm up there opening weekend that the exterior will be basically complete, the drywall, cabinets, trim, etc should be done, and all that will be left will be fixtures, paint, A/C finish-out, etc.
