I've got about six seasons on my decoys and they are looking a little dog eared. Anyone done any scientific research on if a good artistic paint job is worth the effort?

I just buy the colors I need, and paint over the original. Nothing scientific about my method......... grin

I re paint mine every 4 or 5 years just to have something to do in the off season. Just make sure you use flat paint.

i used acrylic paint that you buy in the arts and crafts section at walmart. its easy to use and water cleanup. let it dry for a couple of days before you hit it with some flat krylon clear coat. oh yeah wash the decoys with soap and water real good before you paint and sand them before you paint.

so other than the artistic and theraputic value, painting your decoys improved your hunting experience or could you even tell?
