Just got this in yesterday. 1944 Swiss K31 straight pull bolt action. Shoots a 7.5x55 Swiss bullet. It has to be the coolest bolt action ever made.

I got just what I was looking for - rugged on the outside, beautiful on the inside. Bore is in very good condition. I took it to the range tonight and plopped in on my tool box and shot half a dozen times at 75 yards. I couldn't believe the group it shot when I walked up to the target.

That's a good group with open sights. Throw a scope on it, and you'd tighten those up a lot. Nice rifle cheers

Those are some great guns. Take off the metal butt plate and see if there is a tag behind it. On a lot of K31 rifles, there will be a tag with the information about the Swiss soldier that was last issued the rifle.

As far as putting a scope on it, I'm really starting to get into doing things the old fashioned way. Can't wait to take it hunting. Ever since I started bowhunting, shooting deer with a modern scoped rifle doesn't interest me so much. Taking out an old rifle with open sights feels like more of a challenge.

I guess it's the same way fisherman gravitate towards fly fishing...

And yes, there is a troop tag under the buttplate. I don't want to strip out the screws so I haven't looked at it yet.

i love mine, its a real tac driver. Im trying to find some reloading dies for the round. I want to make some mean hunting rounds for it. The cool things is the bullet is just a standard .308 bullet. The brass on the other hand can get expensive.

I ordered some soft point hunting ammo made in the Czech republic. it was about $0.90 per shell. Not bad, I don't intend to shoot much while hunting...
