Just wandering how many lease members are on here. Looking for some bird reports on Howe City area. I've been up there a couple of evenings seen a few but nothing to write home about.
1st weekend Fannin co. good bird #s
2nd weekend Fannin co. great hunt a lot of birds.
Tonight Fannin seen 4 while hunting think the east wind and storm system may have affected them.

I only hunted Grayson the first weekend and did not see a lot of birds. Am hoping northern birds will be coming down soon but not banking on it being a hotspot. Still fun to get out though.

I hunted the fields near bailey on Sat, Sept 4th. Good # of birds. Hunted sunday evening and there were fewer. Hunting tomorrow AM. I think we'll have to wait till a cold front pushes yankee birds south to have more good shooting.

This is my 3rd year to hunt DJ...good lease for the price and I got sick of driving 3+ hours to dove hunt out west.

My wife and I just got back from hunting the fields south of Bailey.. The first two we checked we being plowed so we set up in the third between two stock tanks and killed 2..

Sure could use a cold front to drop a few more birds down..

last sat am by lenard seen probably 5 to 600 birds that evening maybe a dozen. Its really a guessing game and luck of the draw.

Leonard: 1st and 2nd was good but yesterday was a bomb, shot one out of 4 birds that passed. I saw quite a few on the empty fields that had weeds growing but they are not part of the lease.

We need a cold front or two to get some new birds down here....

I hunted the homestead area of the Howe part of the lease opening day and did fairly well to get 5 birds. However the rains moved in later that day. The next trip out was maybe 5 days later and saw only a few birds to shoot and even fewer flyers in the distance. Nice to see this topic on the forums.
This morning looked like maybe a good chance to catch a few in front of the incoming weather but work wont let me go. I will post any info I gather after my next trip. I have only seen maybe 2-3 whitewing this year. BTW be sure to check the legs for bands.

We hunted the Dorchester area Saturday evening. Very few birds/fields have been plowed under.

Still seeing birds in groups, not as many singles/strays; that's usually more migratory birds... this evening may be good if its not raining
