The wife has decided that she wants to get a 20 gauge. She's short (5' tall) so the youth guns fit her much better.
We looked at Academy yesterday at a Weatherby SA-08 youth model and she liked how lightweight it was. $399 sounded like a decent price for it.
We're going to Cabela's today to see what they have since I have a cash card there.
Anyone have any other suggestions that we should look at. Trying to not spend a ton of cash, but don't want garbage either. I'm thinking she'll like an autoloader better than pump, but she's not opposed to pump either. The 870 youth's forestock is too far out for her to grip comfortably, so that's out.

That's a good price on that weatherby.....
We also like the CZ youth/ladies gun for the same price...

Have pink realtree 1187 Ladies guns available for $600, think there's still a remington rebate too

TreeBass bought that Weatherby for his daughter.
Cabela's had mostly pump shotguns for youth. They had 2 O/Us as well.

Yeah, we went to Cabela's yesterday and fought through the crowd (the gun counter was nuts!).
I was very disappointed in the youth shotgun selection they had. The pumps all seem a little far reaching for her on the foregrip.
We'll probably go get that Weatherby from Academy. It's still her favorite.

I just went through the same exercise, with a weekend dove hunt adding pressure to the process. Ended up buying the Escort autoloader 20 gauge for my 10 year old $299. Won't shoot low brass shells so I'll quickly offset the low price in ammo expense. Also, very difficult to get the back up shells into the magazine. Wish I had opted for the Tristar or the Weatherby as pointed out here. Make sure your decision is final. No return policy is a killer.
