Mile Marker, because a warn caught on fire and my quad was toast, and the replacement Warn was crap and quit after two easy pulls. I now have a Gorilla winch from ebay, i think it cost me $90 with shipping and hasnt let me down yet.

I put a Gorilla winch on my ATV last year, after talking to a couple of people and they gave some good reports on them. So far its been a good winch, I'm happy with it. On the other hand I have heard others complain about them, guess it all depends on what you like and how you take care of your equipment.

Read about them quite a bit on the Polaris Ranger Club forum. Folks really like the product. My Ranger came with the Polaris winch or I would have purchased a Viper.

The price difference makes me wonder how much the mark up is on the "name brand" winches.

I have owned a viper max 3500 on my ATV for years. Never, not once, had one single issue with it. I have submerged it completely under thick gumbo mud and water.....worked flawless time after time. I will buy another viper for EVERY application I can use one on.
