OMG it was the best hunt I can remember since son taking first bird!

She's a super dog, and HYPER by most standards.... (Yes Janie we have restricted her caffeine intake!)....

Got her from Jory, a THF'er from Royse City/Rockwall area....

I was worried, so much time with clients on the lease she got neglected some...

Got her out this evening first hunt....

Worked great early, minded well... but I was watching her and never fired a shot... went back to house and got wife, now ready to hunt...

first flight to Mojo, I got a double.... powdered one, crippled the 2nd...

She waited for me to tell her to go, went to the cripple first, (WISH I HAD A VIDEO OF THAT!)... after about 30 seconds of jumping and yelping she stood on that bird and brought it in...
Dropped on command well, and sat...

Told her to go get it and pointed... she made a beeline to the dead bird...

tried to paw it expecting a fight too, after a few seconds, grabbed it and returned it perfectly....

Can't get any better than that for me......

Thanks Jory, BUtter and Cowboy!

And thanks to Bob (TeamHIllbilly) for telling me to take her and all the early advice!

Butterbean is IT!

She will someday, right now I am the over-protective father type!

Over protective father type rofl THAT IS HILARIOUS!!!

Glad the pup is doing well, nothing like seeing the results of hard work and training. It is very satisfying and no one who hasn't done it really realizes how much work. Before I got mine I was guilty as charged. I knew it was a lot of work but I underestimated how much wink

great news! Seems we have several new pups out this year. Glad you were able to get her on some birds Vernon, nothing like watching them put it all together

took my girl out last night for round 2 ended up with 5 BUT! We where hunting water and she had a real hard time staying focused between kildees and plovers and grasshoppers. Looks like we will take a step back and sped a few hunts on the lead

TreeBass, Tuit was the inspiration for us..... Bob had her up here last year...

Butterbean is on fire... She's holding well and waiting for me, but you know it's hard for her to wait for "Go get em"....

She's retrieving everything shot today, un-friggin believable what a good dog can do....

She's still hyper-active as can be around people, but sit on a bucket with a gun, she's as calm as a mountain lake with no wind...

I shot one that went over a creek as it fell, just for grins, I sent her, about 3 mins later, about when I got nervous, she came back through the weeds and creek with a dove....

Awesome.....

Fantastic hunt tonight, Butterbean was awesome, found 3 of 3 from my first triple of the season, one was a runner that she had to sniff about 100 yards, but WE won... big night, quick limit for me, then the GEESE set on my mojo.... I had to hold her back literally... she wanted a goose... they landed around mojo which was 30 paces from us... several less than that...

then she got a couple more for Vicki after church and after we sat there a while....

I know, we have some cell phone pics, but we've both been too busy shooting to get the good camera out...

Wish I had the first double on film.... first bird she ever retrieved was a cripple, that didn't want to be retrieved... She ran to it and just as she opened her mouth to get it... it ruffled shook and ran.... she jump backwards about 10 feet! Then it was on...
