almost to a point where we can comfortably start looking for a lease. have 2 buddies with kiddos the same age as mine. we would like to find a small lease within 2 hours or so from dfw. dont need much. we are meat/recreation hunters. although management minded. we would like to get our kids outdoors more often. dont feel comfotable taking them to day leases when i really dont know the people or the terrain. i like to take the guys who work for me out from time to time to relax and hunt (maybe twice year). would like to hang out with my brothers when they are in town once or twice a year. same goes for my buddies and their families. couple hundred acres would be perfect. river, creek and or stock ponds would be great. electric, and water and maybe small cabin would be ideal for the wives. prefer a place where we are the only people on the lease. we are all respectful fellas who would take care of the land as our own. having a hard time finding things over the past few months although it has been more of a daydream than reality. dont know any ranchers, farmers nor do i have the time to go driving around to different places asking a stranger to let me lease their land. figured this would be a good place to start.

let me know if have anything or know of a place.

thanks

check the timber companies. Leased a place near Palestine about 5 years ago through Temple-Inland.

Picture removed.

You are welcome to join our family lease. We have openings for you and your friends or family. Plenty of hogs and deer.

i saw the post earlier. how does that work. seems to me a place like that may be open for problems with other people on the lease. i have never been on a lease before so i dont knoe what it is like sharing it with a bunch of other people. do you have designated areas? are they marked? how do you keep one parties kids from running through an area where you may be hunting? do the deer/hogs/critters know to stay in your designated areas? something like this may be the best opportunity for me but i just dont understand how it is supposed to work.

more info would help.

thanks

PM me you're email address and I can send you a copy of the lease rules. For the most part the rules will explain how it works.
Aside from opening weekend of gun season and Thanksgiving weekend the lease has minimal activity.
