how many ppl like to shoot a mixed bag? how many ppl like to shoot only mallards?

MIXED! For me theres nothing cooler than having teal pintail gaddys and greenheads all mixed together.

You can keep telling yourself you'd rather shoot a mixed bag, but mallets and a kicker are what real duck hunters go after. Not hens and trash ducks. That being said not everyone lives where thats possible, and on public it's tough. I have spots where I pass on ducks to shoot only green and others where if it flies it dies. I don't have a promblem with mixed bags, but I always try not to shoot hens, you obviously could care less.

I like shooting a mixed bag, but I would love to shoot a full house of green, haven't had it happen yet.

full greenhead limits are hard to come by, but when it happens it is something special, I don't know why, but it is.

I usually try to shoot every drake I can until I limit or it gets late though.

Where I hunt I usually have a mix of wood duck, mallard, and green wing teal, with an occasional gadwall, and very rarely a wigeon or pintail.

I would like to go somewhere and shoot a limit of wigeon, I've never done that before.

Depends on the spot I choose. I have many spots logged and depending on location I can choose what ducks I want to hunt. Got Mallard spots, Pintail spots, gadwall spots, wood duck spots, etc...then I got the spots that are a custer cornbread of all kinds of ducks. No divers though.
Here is a five minute hunt from last year, I knew this was a mallard spot...

nice i got my quickest limit n 4 minutes last year with one sprig a widgeon drake two mallard drakes a a woodie drake and a canvasback drake

But did you do it in five shots? And stay legal while doing it?

it was six shots for 6 ducks and i did stay legal

so who got their quickest limit in 3 minutes?

I really didnt on purpose. Waited till shooting time and busted the first flock of Mallards, then the second flock of mallards came in and got my last two. Looked at my watch and it was 4-5minutes later.

I have no choice but to shoot a mixed bag. If I waited only for a limit of green heads I might only shoot 5 times the whole year.

thats how most of my places are but i got one that its either gaddies that day or mallards

Worst part of a six bird limit is having to shoot something besides a Mallard!
