Well it is here again and it is looking like it is going to be larger than last years show.. We are set up at booth 942 and every booth that we can see is full. Lots and lots of new and cool stuff to look at and buy...

Starts at 3 pm today and runs through Sunday... All that can, come on out and beat the heat.. The A/C in here works really good....

I just got back a little while ago.

Picked up a few 12 volt batteries, galvanized barrel lids, and a new feeder unit.

Saw one THF (or should I say ex-THF member) member out there. He had entered his daughters buck into the big buck contest. He said they did a very long interview with her and it looks like they are going to do a write up on her buck and the story behind it in a upcoming issue.

Never seen it that crowded on a Friday!!! I can only imagine what Saturday will be like!

Wish they'd have it a few weeks earlier... can't afford to take off from dove lease here to promote the rest of our stuff

Going after church tomorrow. Going to the early service so I can hopefully beat most of the crowd.

I got there about 130 pm and it was crowded. As always, the first thing I did was check out the snakes. Man, they had 2 of the purtiest light colored rattlers I've ever seen; each over 6 ft. Despite the crowd, everyone was friendly. I found a couple of tower stands to my liking , but didn't find any for my budget. I really like the sunglasses that had the video camera built into the frame. The picture quality looked great. Lots of folks were there selling knives, optics, feed and minerals and expensive feeders. I had a good time, but as a lone hunter, I can't afford much of the goods there.

Probably my last go round...

I've been for the last 8 or so years, and it is the same old - same old...

The only thing I noticed different was more booze and no snuff.....

But the snuff companies must have gotten black balled, no samples from any of them...

Plus now the city of Ft. Worth, makes you pay for parking... what a rip, never had to do that before...

Did buy a few feeder batteries...

I think it has run it's course with me... plan to give it 4 or 5 years off then see if anything changes for the better.....

Good Luck and God Bless you and yours,

bulletbox,

I didn't make it the last two years b/c of the exact reasons listed above. It is typically the same and just makes me want to win the lottery every time I turn the corner.

I haven't gone in a couple of years. Still had to deal with the parking though when I went to the Ron White concert on Saturday.

The $5 is supposed to help finance a new arena for the rodeo. They charge it all the time, whether you're going to the museum, Cowgirl Hall of Fame, or any venue over there. I've had the attendant try to collect from me when taking my daughter to museum school. Cost of progress?

I went about 10 years ago and it was too crowded for me then. My B-I-L wanted to go Saturday, but I talked him into the gun show instead. Probably my last gun show for a while. Unless you need a pistol (which they had some great deals on)there ain't much there that appeals to me. Just the same old same old.

I went on Saturday afternoon and it was really crowded. Not horrible, but you had to have some patience moving around the place. There are so many generic deer hunting operations out there these days. I saw one place showing a video with multiple deer over 200" and advertised the place as 92 acres. Is that really a hunting experience? I'm worried people without much hunting knowledge get sucked into that. That's not hunting.

I went for years, especially when I was a member of TTHA. Same stuff, mostly the same people..blah blah blah. No real benefit to membership that I could see anymore. Then they started charging for parking. That's the last straw..if I need it, I'll order it online without the hassle of some half drunk Bubba (at a hunting show?? Really??) bumping into everyone. Too many people to deal with anyway.

I went Sunday morning when it opened at 10 a.m. Was out before noon. Not crowded at all until about the time we left. Wasn't that impressed overall, but got to see a couple of buddies I hadn't seen in a while.
