FYI,
I just spoke with the TPWD office in Ft Worth. As per our conversation, the lady reccommended that I buy my license there because if I were to buy it at wally world they would have to mail a map booklet which would take up to 30 days to recieve. I asked if I bought the license already could I come by and pick up a copy of the booklet. That is not an option. So if you have not bought your Public land permit yet, you may want to do so at the TPWD office.

I bought my license at Academy this past Sunday, and I got my new booklet TODAY in the mail! It is no longer 2 separate books-they combined it all into one book! 3 days is not bad-go to Academy!

It doesn't take 30 days from day of APH permit purchase to receive the APH map booklet; usually no more than 7-10 days. Make sure if you DO NOT receive your mail at the address on your driver's license, you give your mailing address to the license teller so you will receive your Map booklet.
3 days is quick!
