Will this size work ? I might make a trap door on one end and also use for a pig trap when needed.
Any one else do this ?

I use eight 16 foot panels arranged in a circle with t-posts at 8 foot intervals. That puts your feeder about 20 feet inside the fence.

I use the same number of panels but have a square. I like aeb's circle concept - will appear to be more roomy in my opinion.

Ex-math teacher. Circle gives maximum area.
Lifetime working with cattle. Livestock get upset easier with square corners. With round corners, they move along the circle without feeling trapped. Not sure if it applies to deer but it sounds good:-)

Temple Grandin certainly proved it with cows. Should apply to deer....

....and with hogs. They just walk laps around the pen.

Wow those are some big feeder pens. I was hoping to get by with something smaller. The ground where I hunt is clay and feeders have to be moved at least once a year.
I was thinking about making a pen to also catch hogs from time to time as well. if there seemed to be lots of heavy sign on the property. It would just be nice to have a pen that would keep them out most of the time but catch some if they hang out too much anyway.

Go with Electric. 2 mile Solar Panel powersupply and some horse tape and you are good to go.

This set up will keep hogs out and deer will go in?? I want the big boys jumping in not just the spikes and starving does

16 x 8 is way too small IMO. If you build a big pen you won't have to move every year because the hogs won't be able to dig your feeder out every year.

5- 16' cattle panels works well also..at least for me..wire em together place your t-post in at a angle on the inside of the pen bout four inches deep and Im yet to have a cow,horse problem..when they lean on it it just pushes against the post..works pretty good and is big enough to let the deer in and room to feed..plus you get some feed outside so if you want a shot at a pig..good luck

if your angle is for deer to only eat inside then it might be to small, but if you only want to protect your feeder from getting knocked down, then it should be fine. I only fence to protect my feeder. Most of the corn is spread on the outside of the fence. Did this when we had cows, but since we dont have cows anymore, my "new feeder" locations are not fenced at all. Now on my neighbors property that I am allowed to hunt, I had to fence them because of horses but just enough to protect them. Horses dont seem to like to pick the corn off of the dirt, so they pretty much leave it alone. good luck

I know that you can get some deer inside the smaller pen but the bigger the pen the more deer can get inside of it. One old doe can keep a small pen to herself and the same for the dominant buck. If you keep the pen big enough and all of the corn inside you will not have quite as many problems with hogs.

10 16' panels, T post every 8 feet and overlap the last square on the panels.
