When I open the shop I plane to do a monthly shooting fee for the regulars . I plan to charge $10 an hour regular fee. The monthly fee will be $30 a month shoot as much as you wish in that month. So if you plan on shooting more then three times a month this will be the best deal for ya. How many of you think you would do something like that.
Thanks in advance for the help, Wes

I would pay the $30 for a month of shooting. Don't get mad, but for those who won't be shooting as much, I do think $10 an hour is quite alot for a 20 yard range. I don't know what the others in Fort Worth area charge, but in Weatherford it is $7 or $8 for the whole day. Sorry if that isn't what you wanna hear.

On the other hand, if you charge the hourly fee, you will probably have alot more people buying the $30 membership, because it would be cheaper for them, if they need to tinker with their gear for a couple of hours to just go all out.

Smithfield is 6 an hour. Wes you should charge a little more than that say 8 if you are still planing on a 30 and a 20 yard range. Not to many indoor ranges have the different yard ranges.

Tripod? 3-d targets? I dont know, at first I would just be glad to get customers in there and talking about you until you are "established". Just my opinion, of course. Who is your competition? Offer something more.

what dave said, check out the competition and price accordingly. Here in austin the range charges $6 or $8 an hour, anything over that is $12 for the whole day. the monthy fee is $40 or $45...that might not help you out much since that is here in Austin, I just want to bump up my post count
Attention rickym, this is not a troll post, just a good hearted fun type of post

Just an idea, but are you making any free shooting time for those that buy a new bow from you? I have seen a few shops do that before. Something like two weeks free range time or something similar.

OK, I've been accused of thinking outside the box since, well, I was born. Wes, I just dont see you getting wealthy by offering "shoot-by-the-hour" rates. Why not offer it for free? That would ensure you always have "customers" in your shop (which never sucks), it wouldnt cost you any $, and if they are always there, I bet they would be more inclined to buy tackle, etc.
Just my "out of the box" opinion.

That is a damn good idea MD. I might have to use that. Do you mean the hourly or all of it.

Wes, I would be much more inclined to spend money in the shop, if I didn't have to worry about the "clock".. I know that Fay in Farmersville uses his discretion in charging, depending on money you spend in the shop.. I am certain yours would be the same way.. Folks might be more inclined to even come to the shop, if they don't have to worry about paying.. Then when you get them there, have a coke box with $1.00 cokes and water and you'll make more than you would if you actually charge.. People will feel compelled (almost guilty) to spend some money in the shop, if they're using your facilities.. JMHO

Offer something your competitors dont! Put a sign up "Free Archery Range!" You will get ALL the business, be the talk of the town, introduce new hunters into the sport, and drive your competition NUTS!!! (Ha! Ha!)
Cant go wrong, Wes! Again, just my opinion.

You and me both Mark... I have to decide which acre I want to set the target up on this time.. To add some excitement, I have the kids go pick on of the thousand cedar trees to set the target up behind.. Then I go stalk through the woods and take a shot accordingly.. Then my 6 year old son lays it down UNDER a damn cedar tre to be funny !
