acesneights on here makes a good priced crank up feeder that would be pretty hog proof.

I build all of mine. That's your best for your buck. Tri-pod hanging feeder is the way to go for pigs.

Big "A" feeder from Academy. Hold right around 700lbs for 350 bucks...but we change the timer, put a solar panel and add a varmint guard (so around 400 bucks).

Do you want a feeder that will last 2-3 years or ar you looking for somthing to last from now on. Now let me explain myself for $100.00 you can go to Academy and buy a good feeder and it will work just fine for a few years. Longer if you don't have todeal with mad cows or hogs. You can also stake it down with "T" post. However the first time it gets knock over more than likely you could have major damage. On the other hand a complete Feeder,(funnel, galvanized lid, and complete timer) winch feeders sell for around $700.00. Those are the extremes. Your question was concerning budget. If your only consideration is budget I would most certainly sugest the $100.00. On the other hand if you are looking to invest in somthing that will last and stand up to almost anything thrown it's way I would suggest looking into a winch feeder. Do not misuderstand me I build and sell winch feeders however, I am a hunter and I know what a budget is. I am not going to try to sell you or anyone else something they don't need or want. Most of my customers are folks who have had all sorts of problems over the years and are looking to raise their standard bar. For someone on a budget or just getting into hunting the Academy feeders are a great deal in my opinion.

Call the around to the Ag depts of the smaller school outside SA and see what $ they would want for a winch style feeder. Most times it's the price of the materials.

I agree with building your own would be the best budget for you. However, I am sure there are several locals that build and sell feeding units ect. My suggestion, if there is a local that is charging almost as much as the super retail stores, I would question this. The locals, as myself, have an idea of what these units actually cost and should mark up accordingly for their labor/profit. I would suggest looking at our web sight as well and compair. www.parttimefeeders.com or Cell: 817-808-2210

Other then the plug for your feeders, I am at a loss for where you were going with your statement?
