I have at least eight portable deer stands and yet, I'm one of those who tends to hunt the same two or three stands most of the season. Heck, I have a tripod that I never even setup last season. I'll even go further and say that I hunted the same stand more than 90% of the time last season. And this doesn't count the permanent box-type stands that I have access to as well.

Anyone else find themselves falling into this same trap of perferring the same stand, over and over, even though there are several others available that you always seem to pass up?

Yes, I like to have multiple stands either in traffic areas or on opposite wind sides of a feeder, although often we seldom if ever hunt some of them

I have a habit of putting up tripods and never hunting them.

i don't know, just seems like a good idea at the time.

I did put up one tripod in a field we had on the west side of the ranch, then spent a week hunting it.

I was amazed at the number of bucks I saw that never came to the feeder at any of our blinds

My favorite stants are a five gallon bucket in the timber next to one of my food plots! I always have better luck hunting in the timber next to a food plot versus hunting in a stand! Not real sure why!

I have 3 stands at the lease, and then have another stand on a small piece of property my neighbor owns. This year I have a stand at a friends place that is bordered by national forest. I hunt all of them at least a couple times a year, but I have one stand on the lease that produces bucks year after year, and I spend way more time in that stand than anywhere else. I've wondered though if I picked another stand and put as much time in at that one what I would see there, it's just hard for me to do when I know I have this one spot where I ALWAYS see deer.

To answer your question, straight up yes. I have 33 blinds and some tripods. I have one blind over a food plot that I hunt nearly every evening. Some of my blinds never get hunted by anyone over the course of the season.

I'm more the opposite.

I have one blind that i truly enjoy hunting, would pick before all others. I have two more that I don't mind hunting and before we sold off part of our ranch, I had three more that i very seldom ever sat in, even though all three were proven producers of big deer. matter of fact, we had one blind that was close to the cabin, about half a mile. nobody ever hunted it, except for one guy who had shot a cull outta it. 5 years went by and i never hunted it, the first time i sat in it, i video'd a 160 class buck....go figure.

i guess i just get used to the scenery at a certain blind, regardless of whether it holds the most/biggest deer or not

i have 3 on 80 acres and i've got two trail cams so i'll hunt the one i like the most and put my cams up at the others and if then check the cams at lunch if i see something i like i start hunting it last year i stayed in one blind every day after opening day and it worked great. i think it's just nice to have options open just in case.

Not me. I have one box, and one bow stand. Both set-up on the same food plot and feeder.

My uncle on the other hand.. He has aminimum of 3 hangers, one lean too, and one tripod. And he still hunts the same lean too year after year.

I have so much time, work, and money invested in my area that I feel compelled to hunt it more than anywhere else.
