Sorry its been a while since I took HE. I have a friend who is trying to certify his two boys. They have already completed the online aspect and need a field day course. They are located around Lake Lewisville as far as geography goes.

Does anyone know of any upcoming classes, like this month?

Any THF members do this?

NOTE: Please do not recommend or send a link to Dentoncountysports.com in Copper Canyon.
Yes they are the closest, but with the most Rude website and bold and underline words I would not send anyone there. I cant believe that place is in business with those marketing practices.

I have no good news to share....I just sent my check to Denton County Sports yesterday. I signed up for a class later this month. I thought the same thing as you when I read their site. I am expecting to deal with some abrasive folks upon arrival. What the heck, why such the attitude, I would not have went their if I could have found a location closer.

Most of the big stores have people that host them, Cabela's, Bass Pro, Gander, and you can shop during breaks.

I'm not promoting them but DCS wasn't as bad as the website made it out to be. Took my son a few years ago for HE and we really had a good time. I forget the instructors name but he was entertaining and we both got good info out of the class.

But I agree, the website seems a bit over the top and they make you feel like they're doing YOU a favor by offering this class.

Just my .02 cents...

I just took the class a few weeks ago in the Houston area. From reading DCS website it appears to me that it will cost 31.88 plus the 15 for the class. If I were you I would find a place that doesn't charge a facilities fee, they can be found on the TP&W website. The one i took was at a church and only cost 15 bucks. The class was informative, and don't imagine that the 30 bucks makes the class any worse/better. Tell your friend to make sure his boys know everything covered in the online quizzes. The test at the end of the course covers ALL of that material. Several people in the class I took missed a lot of questions.

Wow , I find it sad that a company with this attitude and advertising is one of the very few choices around DFW.

Thanks for the help, I will let them know.

If you hit refresh, they add a new section each minute. lol.

I took it at the Grand Prairie Gun Club years ago and had a great time.

Just pay $10 each and get the deferral, and find a good class next year.

If they're 16 yrs old or under they are not required to
have the cert or a deferral, but they will need to hunt within
voice control of a certified hunter.

UPDATE- Attended the class and it was like FriscoKen stated. The folks there were real nice and the class was entertaining and educational. I would reccomend going there for sure.
