So I have been watching his show this season (did not see a single episode last season). I am not impressed at all, opening day they sat in a blind that was in 20’ of water and complained about it the whole time. I thought these dudes were hardcore and would have at least attempted to find a better spot, surly they know some other places that were not in 20’ of water. On the out of state hunts it appears all they did was hook up with outfitters and got put on birds, which I am cool with that, but don’t act like you’re a pimp when someone else does the work.

…and I love how they show 5min of hunting and 25min of BS…

yeah, seemed like hunting shows use to actually have tips and try to teach the watcher something. Now its all commercials and and BS with some kill shots mixed in.

I might try and work on my own show this season called "Garrett and his no good dog Gene".

The one episode where they cut area out of some cane and hunted was pretty cool. That one shot double kill was pretty sweet!

DC is a reality TV show. I like it. I really don't care that they don't show a lot of kills or whatever. Showing people shoot birds doesnt do a lot for me. I'd rather be hunting myself. I think the show is interesting because they show the family side, business side etc.

The thing that annoys the hell out of me is all the product placement. It's like they have mini commercials during the show. They are always taking shots of the shells, guns, whatever products that they are sponsored by. But other than that it's a decent show in my book.

So Garrett...I'd tell you to keep watching and you might get into it once you get a feel for the characters. Too bad you can't watch the first season...be a good primer.

As for them finding spots...keep watching they have hundreds.

Season one was better IMO. But, I still like this season as it shows the struggles that even 'hardcore' hunters have. My whole family enjoys it. We've enjoyed getting to know their personalities and family/business issues. Unfortunately, this season has become more commercial though.

Would you watch football if all it showed was the touchdowns? The killing isn't why I watch hunting shows.

I think the show is pretty gay. I ahd high hopes for it, and keep watching it thinking something cool will happen, but I am forever disappointed.

As far as using the swithcane (or bambo as some call it) we've been doing it for years when the need arises for a mobile blind (and Im sure some of you guys have been using it to). My first thought when I saw it was that public lakes are now going to be nothing but makeshift switchcane blinds everywhere. Every kid that has cable is going to have a boat stacked with bambo. Oh well, yall can have that crap.

And to top the show off and make it really suck....Willie trys to be funny and cool...What a douche!

I watched some of the Buck Commander the other day and I see they also went to the "Kiss" camo face paint. Even Chipper Jones was sporting the camo facepaint......

Its a reality TV show, not a hunting show. Why would they show kill shots and 100% hunting on TV when they sell DVDs with all that on there? I watch it b/c it is entertaining. And like another poster said, watching other people kill birds doesnt do much for me. I do think they should have more hunting tips and what-not on their DVD's, though. The TV show is REALITY TV showing daily life. Sure they have product plugs all over the place but do you blame them? Thats a paycheck. You guys talk about RNT-V and MN. What is that if not product plugs?

Don't hate on the kiss camo (at least for waterfowling). I hate facemasks. I'm a firm believer in face/head camo. If you have ever taken a plane ride over the marsh during duck season, or seen aerial shots from a plane during season, faces shine/stick out like no other. You go buy the little 'camo compacts' and you have to sit there for a few minutes applying it and it still doesnt give the desired effect. I use DC facepaint every season, a streak w/ each finger on either side of the face and you are done. Can't argue with results.

I agree, last season was pretty decent. I think a lot of that attributes to the fact of such high water and lack of ducks. Lots of folks struggled up and down that rive. One could say, move, but where they are, where do you go? I don't think they're trying to hide the fact it's a struggle and they are going to have to show what they can and fill in the rest. Granted its not a good hardcore waterfowler show, but it's still a show and that keeps people watching.

i think my second episode of the show I will film this season will be the importance of kicking your dog on a regular basis. A good rib kick for when he starts getting a little to worked up and acting like has been drinking whiskey. A solid kick to the arse for the time you are able to sneak up on him while he over sleeps and is still in bed when you show up. Then the all important kick to the chin for when he decides that its OK to tell you to drive somewhere and then you get stuck says "yeah its muddy over here, you should not have driven this way"

what about the kick to the nuts??? I know that p.o.s dog Gene needs a good kick in the nuts every once in a while!
