Tuesday, August 31, 2010, the Youth Dog Training Club is having its meeting at 6:30pm at the Waller County Extension Office located in Hempstead,Tx. All kids are invited ages 5 to 18 no matter where they live or what breed canine they have. The club teaches the child through dog obedience demonstration how to: 1. teach their dog to show respect by following commands/rules; 2. how to inspire their dog and teach them to be a leader and not a follower; 3. how to make a difference in someone else's life which can change their own life; and 4. a sense of accomplishment by achieving these goals with their dog. The Youth Dog Training Organization holds additional events throughout the year such as dog costume contest, agility, obedience, drill, showmanship, jump, and many more. The group continues to add a variety of events every year. The purpose is get the children active with man's best friend to be an important part of the family. For more information and directions, please feel free to call Mr. Jernard McCray at the Waller County Extension Office, 979-826-7651. Address: 846 6th Street, Hempstead, Tx 77445. Please also feel free to call Bryan Grantom at 713-419-9608 for additional information on topics, demonstration questions, etc.
