I have racoons climbing all over my feeder, and posted for suggestions as to how to slow them down. One reply suggested Shark Teeth, and I was going to give them a try. Then I salvaged some old metal studs at the job site, used some snips, and made my own. They are sharp and will do some damage if the 'coon tries to climb over them. They will eventually rust, but I figure they will work and are easy to replace. if the 'coons cut themselves as much as I did making them, it will be worth it.

Youre better off staying up all night and trying to shoot them. All metal studs will do is keep em off youre feeders. Theyre still gonna eat all the corn.

The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.

I have the same problem. We are going to buy one of those coon cages from academy that fits over the feeder spinner to keep them from dispensing the corn. Of course we are going to shoot as many as we can next week. I have experimented with a 22 at 75 yards and noticed after killing one that they return to the feeder in a matter of minutes. So, I would suggest a good 22 and plenty of rounds.
The ole 270 fires and they are gone for 30 minutes or so.

All good ideas. I like Hootmarton's, but after 3 beers my aim is not as steady. The sad thing is I was in my stand Saturday morning for about two hours, and saw nothing (I thought). Then, about 8, three of those little rascals scurried out of the pen and into the brush. By 10, we had removed all the taller grass and bushes from around the feeder so I can actually see them next time.

Snipe them out. Great target practice

I can't wait to get back to the lease and thin out the coons. I'm going to try my latest coon remover---a Marlin 39A 22 caliber and i'll be using 22 shorts so not to scare their brothers and sisters away.
