Just a fyi we had this discussion a while ago and someone said taking your old waders back to cabelas and getting new ones was a little dishonest here is the fact. They have a lifetime warranty and they were happy to exchange for new ones (more money I got to spend on some new stuff) thanks cabelas

I'm about to pull the trigger on some new first light breathable. That is good to know that I don't have to feel bad about taking them back.

Qwaak, how long had you owned the pair that were taken back? I've had mine for 4 or 5 seasons and hunted the whole last season with a leak in the freakin' crotch... I did call them once and they said they couldn't do anything for me. Should I just take them over to the one in Fort Worth? Thanks.

do you know if it has to be the Cabela's brand waders or is it any waders? Well it's only supposed to be their brand that's guaranteed for life, but they have pretty good customer service and may work with you.

I will say this... If you have used, and abused them for 4 or 5 season...Pony up and buy a new pair... Cabela's has "GREAT" customer service, but please don't take advantage of them/or their customer service... If someone only had their waders for 1 year and they started to leak, then by all means, take them back... But takin' advantage of the system...doesn't seem like the right thing to do! My .02 J.J.

i think it was just the cabelas brand other mnf have there warranty. they said they would give me a credit on another brand but they didn’t have any other waders in big boy sizes. the fact is companies that offer warranty lots of people don’t use them cause a lot of places make it difficult to use its nice when someone stands behind a product and gives you service to boot.

I want to say that Bass Pro will replace their Bone Dry's as well. Had a pair of bone dry extremes that started leaking with less than a full season (2nd split of the previous season and 1st split of this past season) and I took them back and replaced them no questions asked.
I'm with J.J. though, if they're less than two years old, take 'em back, but if you have used and abused them for more than 3 years, pony up and be honest and get a new pair.

Do you need the receipt in order to take them back? I'm not very good at keeping up with those...

I'm not very good at keeping up with those... they'll probably let you swap them out without one, but they told my buddy to be sure and hang on to it after he got his new ones. They said they're changing the policy to where you have to have a receipt.

I'm buying a pair of dry plus before season starts. 4.6 out of 5 with 126 reviews. I will keep the receipt. With a lifetime warranty, they could be the last pair I ever buy.

the dry plus are the ones I returned twice last season yah I know, but the way I see it is ALL waders are going to leak. You had a new pair leak twice last season. I could buy a new pair and three years later they start leaking. Either way, Cabelas stood behind their product and made it right. That's important to me and with a Cabelas near my house, and on the way to my favorite honey hole, I am going to buy a pair from them, soon.

I'm sorry, but if I buy anything with a life-time warranty, be it a muffler, an alternator, or pair of waders, I'll be exchanging it when it's time. Otherwise, don't offer "life-time" warranties.

i just got taken to school well you always said how much you liked them, minus the leaking. I don't have any now cause I returned my pair after the season cause they were leaking. Got a gift card. used it during fishing season. All waders leak, I say, all waders EVENTUALLY leak. Why wouldn't they? Teal season is getting close. I'd say when I buy my waders soon, I'll proabably be scouting lake X since it's so close to sporting goods store X, where I plan to buy my waders.

Not Cabelas, but last season we had two brand new pair start leaking.
One was my gf's Columbia brand. About mid season (and my gf doesn't hunt that much) the boots, leg and crotch started leaking. Took them back to Academy who didn't carry them anymore. Was told to call Columbia. Called Columbia and got the run around - "you have to call C.O. Lynch," who apparantly makes them for Columbia. Called them got the run around - "you have to talk to Columbia." That whole ordeal was a pain in the butt. Academy finally gave a refund after we explained the horseapples that were happening. I had another exact pair that I ended up selling on craigslist to get rid of them before I ended up wet.
The other pair was some Hodgeman's of mine. A leg seam started leaking. Called up Coleman and had a new pair in roughly a week.

if I tear, or punchure a pair i wont exchange them. Last year i bougth a pair, and stabbed a hole in the foot in 3 hunts. Dang foot like to froze up in Missouri hunting flooded timber with ice thick enough to walk on. It was cold.
They went in the trash.
Now if a seam gives way they are going back. BPS Bone dry extremes are notorious for it. I quit buying them I took back probably 5 pair a couple with in a 2 months always a crotch leak.
Course my hunting buddy said it was my needle ________ putting a hole in them. Who knows.

the dry plus are the ones I returned twice last season my dry plus got a hole in em, and it was the first season with them.. so returned em to bass pro for some lacrosse, and those got punctured by a small stick in the boot the first time i used them on a hunt...so returned those asap with a reciept, and ended up with the zip up bass pro ones, they seem pretty good!
