I have been looking at a lease in Uvalde off of 55 and the terrain is pretty hilly/rocky. The lease is pretty much all hills and creek bottoms. I was wondering if anybody has hunted this area and if so have you had any luck seeing deer on the hills/ridges? Please let me know.

If the terrain is hilly and rocky, then you are on the north side of Hwy 90.
That area is unique in that it is right on the transition between what is known as the "hill country" and also to the south would be more like the terrain you would find in deep south Texas, and along with the bigger bodied and horned deer also.
I've hunted both sides of 90 and you find that numbers of deer are going to be slightly higher in the typical hill country terrain.
Setting up on the headers where deer funnel down from high ground bedding areas, to low bottoms is a good approach, and also in the winter the deer like to sun after a cold night on the eastern hillsides and dip into the bottoms to get out of the wind.
Also hunting down in the bottoms can be difficult as the wind tends to swirl around the hills, trapping your scent in every corner of a bottom so getting up on the ridge is an advantage.
