I'm curious & ignorant to the subject. Does this train a dog to be 'shy' or 'aware' of ANY snake or just rattlers? My biggest concern is Copperheads. Will this help our dog for an encounter w/them?

I would love to see you again Guy. If you make it down this time I will take a little bit of a break and spend a little more time visiting with you.

I thank you for the question. It gives me an opportunity to blab which happens to be my real specialty. The training will make your dog shy away from all snakes. I use a black and white lead rope during training. Most dogs will shy away from it at the end of the training. I figured they are experiencing the same thing a human does when we see a snake and it takes a half a second to process what we are seeing. When the pattern comes clear we get a little start.

We can train all dogs from pets to hunters. I have trained from 5 pound dogs up to 180 pound dog and all in between. Hope to see you there.

$40 is a great price. I need to get this done for my lab. Id feel a little safer for him when hes with me where we hunt. How many spots do you have left? Do you need a deposit to hold a spot? thanks

Wayne, I will most likely come out to the clinic. What will the clinic and the vaccine cost me?

The training is $40 and the vaccine is $20 per dose. Glad to see your coming out. It looks as if we are going to have a rather large THF turn out. I like it!!!

is there any danger of making a dog "collar wise" or afraid of the e-collar if that dog is already collar conditioned?

Not if it is done right. There are no guarantees in anything we do in training. I have had no troubles with making them collar wise yet. Be it your going to do the training once or twice a year I would not worry about it. Retriever training with a collar is usually with a very low setting. The snake avoidance is with the collar turned all the way up. I beleive they have to different experiences.

An example. I have been hit with 220 volts and 110 volts. I have stuck my tounge on a 9 volt battery and used my hand to test ecollars. None of it was fun but none compared to what I went through the other day. Two different experiences completely. We had mandatory taser training the other day. It wasn't mandatory to get gases but my partner volunteered. To save a longer story I had to because he was doing it.

Ooooooohhhhh my godddddd!!!'. Without a doubt that sucked and left a lifelong imprint on my brain. If you want me to cluck like a chicken, point a taser at me. You want me to paint your house and scrub the toilet, you got it point a taser at me.

So I would say if dine right don't worry about it.

Oh I didn't do it BECAUSE he is my partner. The problem is his desk is next to mine and we are in constant competition. Who made the most fingerprint identifications this month ect. I was not about to spend the last few years of my career sitting next to a loud mouth calling me a B**** every morning. I would never get the upper hand again. Trust me the taser was not fun at all. It locks your entire body up and waves of terrible electricity are flooding through your body. Nothing compared to giving him the amunition to jack with me over every cup of coffee every morning. See you there Judd!!

Good Deal. BTW way I was going to comment on the photo I saw of how you grilled your doves last year. Never thought of stuffing a whole jalepeno with cheese then wrapping them together. Sort of like a jalepeno popper and a dove all in the same whack! See you there!!

Wayne sounds like your gonna have a good turn out in Weatherford. I know from my experience Wayne has done a great job with educating the dog to avoid the snakes and answer all questions from owners. I have seen him do dogs 6 or 7 different times in different sititions until he is convinced they will look to avoid the snakes. Verses all the dogs line and they get one chance to get the picture.
