I have a Pro Hunter on one of my feeders. I have used them in the past, and get about 2 years of continous use out of them. They are very stingy with the battery. I don't mind spending $40 every two years, as they take about 10 minutes to replace on the fly.

Update: You can also use a solar charger on these units. You will need to use two rechargable six volt batteries in lieu of the dry cell batteries. Not sure how you hook up the two batteries to single charging system though. May need one of our electrician friends here online to provide guidance on how to do this. There is a small rubber plug in a hole on the side of the metal case designed to accommodate wiring for either a solar charger and/or antenna for remote control.
