My Dad was not much of a hunter. He took me quail hunting once. There was and old maid, friend of the family that used to take me rabbit hunting on her family farm a lot when I was a little kid. Prob should credit her and her dad.

Good ole Granddad got me hooked on hunting and fishing. Parents didn't hunt much, but supported me when I really got addicted to it in my teenage years. I hope one day my son will chose me if he is ever asked this question.

Both my parents. They both started taking me at a young age.

My dad. The rest of the family never hunted nor fished, even though I now hunt their/our land. My dad got me started hunting and fishing, and I gravitated towards friends that did both as I grew up.

I can only hope my daughter finds a passion for it as well.

My brother got me hooked. Since I was the opps of the family, my dad was about ready to hang it up when I started. Thank god for dove season, it started me on a life long addiction of the great outdoors and freezers full of food!!!!!

If not brought up hunting when young, I think a lot of folks get exposed to hunting this way (dove hunts).

I started fishing at about 5-6 with my cousins my age. Once I left for Denmark when I was 9 I stopped fishing until I moved back to Dallas at 11 years old. While in Denmark at age 11 my dad bought an 835 acre ranch in Rotan (Fisher Co.) as an investment (he has never hunted and does not have interest in it) Our uncle asked us if there were deer on it and we said maybe. He went out with us for the 2007 deer season. I did not shoot a deer that trip but we saw a few including a very large 10 point that hopped the fence before my uncle could get the shot off. I am 15 now and my dad will rarely go hunting but I go every chance I get. I wish he would hunt but he has very little interest in waking up early and chasing game.

This has been a walk through the memories of my life in this area and I must say it brought tears to my eyes remembering my Grandfather may he be resting in peace with the Lord. I used to go to his place in AR and spend one or two weeks in the summer there and he would talk about deer hunting and turkey hunting and got me interested. My dad is not a hunter but he did buy me a BB gun and a shotgun that I hunted deer in AR with he and my Grandfather. But I guess it was really my FIL who really got me hooked on deer hunting buying me my first rifle, a Marlin 30-30, which I used to take my first muy grande...a spike. He has been my hunting buddy ever since and has always treated me more like a son than a SIL and I love him like a father.

So I guess I have three to thank for my love of hunting, Grandfather, Dad and FIL.

I would have to thank my dad and both grandfathers. They have all passed on now, but I was blessed to have them pass on their love of the outdoors and hunting. I killed my first doe with my dad, killed my first buck with my mom's dad, and killed my 1st quail and dove with my dad's dad.

Well I had a love for shooting since about 8th grade, which was bad since my parents were/are still anti-gun/anti-hunting...

Both grandfathers let me shoot 22's; and got enough family pressure to get a 22 of my own for Christmas in the 8th grade.

I hunted with friends but mainly dove and duck and rabbits through school. My father in law to be was the first to take me deer hunting. And boy did it stick to me.
