anyone have the LST waders i tryed them on at the expo and thought they were nice would like some 2cents on this im a big boy 6'4" and 3 bills not 6'5" buck 20 chef (sorry private joke) so keep that in mind. I had the cabelas waders for 3 seasons and they were ok but now the leak more than bp.. flush

I don't know about the waders but Drake jackets and their other products have held up pretty well.

3 seasons is a long time for a pair of waders to last.

I've heard the LSTs really like to leak.

I've checked out the Drake MST (mid-season technology) waders, and like other drake gear, looks like they were designed by duck hunters. I really like the Drake gear I use, and think they would be pretty good.

I am curious what people will say on this thread too, because I am looking into a new pair as well.

I would avoid the LST though and go with MST. I think most TX weather would be able to handle MST, and layer on the colder days.

My 2cents

They make a big boy size but not not In the lst only in the mst the strap seems a little weird the way it just velcros back under itself with no buckles but maybe that's more comfortable I don know there factory is in the next town over from my inlaws I mY call and grill them and see if you can direct order from them cant hurt to ask

I think the LST will be fine in Texas weather.

I don't like to get cold.

I wear Cabela's 1600 gram Super Mag waders and like them.

LaCrosse makes a pair of big boy waders.

Plus, LaCrosse makes the best waders on the market.

Everything Drake makes is quality for waterfowling equipment from my experience. I don't have any idea on the size of the LST waders though. I'm about the same size and have some Orvis Churchcreek breathables. They'll fit you just fine. They are awesome for hunting in TX. I've used them in 8 degree air temps in KS no problem with layering underneath. The only problem is there is no insulation in the boots and your feet will freeze. That's the only draw back to hunting with them in really cold weather.

I got mine on Ebay for less than 1/4 of the cost thru an Orvis store.

I think that's the exact seller I got mine from over 4 years ago. You might e-mail them and see if they have your size.

They are a little pricey for my taste. I use the cabelas ultimate 5mm for the cold days and the mad dog 3 ply for the rest of the season. They make both in stout sizes for a little bit more room where most of us need it.

I had a pair of the LST last year, and i loved everthing about them except for one thing. I'm 6'4 230 and the problem i had was that they werent long enough. I ripped a few seams around the knees because evertime i would have to kneel or pick my leg up high, there was just not enough material. other than that i loved them haha

If you build it, they will come

thats the kind of thing i was looking for andrew im also 6'4 but most of my hight is in my torso i have short legs comparatively at the expo they had a size bigger than stout called the big boys or something like that they don't show on there website however they fit better in the torso with room to spare for a few good meals. how do you like the strap system on them?

The LST wader is overkill for Texas. With the correct layers, you can remain comfortable in EST's anywhere in Texas. Even during the cold snap last January, I was quite comfortable in EST's in 6*F weather. If you're set on neoprene, the MST is your wader.

it may be overkill but that one time that you are frezzin your marbles off you wish you had the extra insulation. I can always take layers off if i get to hot plus i have a pair of light weight waders. im lookin for the heavy duty boys. plus you never know when you wont be hunting texas.

I've seen your picture and Hayraker's, and I'll bet you'd cower like a five year old girl if push came to shove.

Just sayin.

Must be boring on the fuge, haven't seen you on here in a while.

Let me see if I've got this straight - you think Hayraker is so infantile that busting him about his temperature tolerance is grounds for an [censored] whipping? You must be a ton of fun to be around in a blind.

Just making an observation.

You have been MIA on here since last year and you return with that comment?

Just seems a little harsh, I guess you were joking.

As far as sharing a blind with me, I've never had a complaint. I make good coffee, always have a full flask, and nothing gets out alive.
