I thought the 4' version was too short. It is perfect. This thing is so light, you won't know it is in your pocket. It is also a great training tool and almost as effective as a choke chain.

I got the camo version for my Birthday.

I used something like that with Molly befor I cc'd her. I used a choke chain with a small rope on it (like 6") short enough such that if you let go, it would hang down but not touch the ground. I would not use it for hunting, namely in places where your dog could get hung up.

I have one I havnt used a cc on cash and this works pretty well doesn't have the snap a cc would for corrections but I use a e collar for that I should get my boy back from the trainers in like three weeks she said he doing awsome I can't wait to see his progress. I do want to get the 24 inch quick release lead from Avery before I start taking him out in the field.

a lot of trainers use them to get dogs on and off their trucks at hunt tests.

I use a short 'traffic' lead, with a choke chain attached at the end. You can either use it as a loop, or as a fixed diameter by clipping onto each end of the choke chain.

Threw my british style slip lead away.

Perfect for escorting your dog to and from the line.

finally with free shipping from macks i ordered one of these i have the slip lead one as well. I like the idea of having this hooked to something and being able to release the dog and it not hang up on anything while hes learning not to break. for ten bucks it was worth a try. ill see how strong this buckle is but hopefully when or if it breaks i will have the pup under control anyone else used one of these?

I keep the short one in my truck for the places that people look at me crazy when I have a lab walking around without a lead on. Works good.

I ordered the 6' and Cabela's sent me a 4' with a small refund check to boot. It is not as bad as I thought but I like having enough lead to hold the excess on the off-heel side.

The crazy looks you get are almost as fun as walking in a Stabucks around 11:00 am with mud, feathers and blood all over you.

Qwaak,

go to the feed store and buy a $2 panic snap and a brass ring for a bullet proof diy breakaway lead.

Well I sent that pos back to Avery and decided to make my own check it out I would have led to find a black lobster buckle but this is what home depot had.
