Does anyone use there iPhone when they are scouting? I have a GPS but it seems that my iPhone is just SO much easier to use.

In short, what apps (if any) do yall use when scouting?

Yeah, that was the main reason I got an iPhone, was for GPS, Google earth, Weather.com (really good to know if a storm is coming), check for regulations on TPWD Website, listen to internet radio, and make a post or 2 on the THF when the ducks are not flying. grin

Also, the iphone is not always a replacement for GPS. First, you may be where you cannot get a signal. Plus you cannot mark way points, GPS coords, etc..

I have one app that does everything my GPS handheld does. I was just seeing if anyone knew anything I didn't.

Yep. It's a pretty cool app. There is just a lot to it so it gets confusing sometimes.

yup, I use MotionX GPS, google earth, weather.com (weather and legal shot time), and weatherbug (i like a couple different weather stations). If someone could design a THF app we could possibly upload photos directly from the blind....hmmmmmmmm.

Photobucket has an app, I have not tried to upload from the iphone to photobucket, but you should be able to. Then from there you could do a tweet grin on the THF from the blind with a pic.

That sounds entirely too complicated.

Now, if they had a waterproof iphone, i might be in.

Just curious if you meant Navionics? Did you get the Lakes:US South. I just updated to the OS4 and it is not compatible yet but they are working on it.

I have used that same waterproof case while I fish out of my kayak and I put my phone in it and I've dropped it in the water completly and I even swim with it while it's in my pocket and have never got a drop of water in it!
If you don't have one i would definitely invest in one!!!!!

i uploaded all of my pics this year from my iphone using the photobucket app. I have used the drypak, since after my "spill" in RayBob several years ago, and it has worked great on keeping every phone i have had dry.

It's not skybusting, if you make the shot.

Photobucket app works pretty well. Easiest way for waterproof iPhone is using a double zip freezer bag (you will still be able to use the touchscreen making this method far superior). I have had MotionX on my iPhone for a while now but have never really used it. Looks like I need to start messing with it.

And mine is waterproof. I dropped it in the gulf a couple months ago (submerged over 30 seconds), put it in a bag of rice that evening and it still works. The top power/sleep button no longer functions though.

Any other cool apps to use? Do yall know about TideGraph, HuntingBag, ProKnot? These are my hunting/fishing apps I use.

yea that was what i ment i have os4 and mine works just fine

and you can still use the touchscreen with the dry pack also no condensation like i have gotten in the past with plastic bags this this is fool proof no yellow and blue make green to deal with.
