Elderly widow lady down the road has an armadillo digging under the slab of her house. Been doing so for several months. She has tried moth balls, amonia soaked rags in hole, rocks and bricks in hole,...the sucker keeps coming back. Anyone have any ideas how to get rid a burrowing armadillo? She never sees it. Always digs at night. Your ideas appreciated.

Terry

Live trap baited with a banana.

Silver spurs and gold tequila

+1.. If it's in town, then a pellet rifle or a 2 iron.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

If you want to kill the armadillo put up a game camera and find out what time he is showing up. To trap one get a live trap. Get two twelve foot or so boards. Make a v shaped funnel with the boards leading to the trap. They will usually follow the boards right into the trap.

Been there done that but if they get out in the hole you'll almost have to dig them out, also like using the 12 gauge or the wifes fav. is the .22

my parents have the same problem. Dad shoots about one a month in his yard. Have to catch them after dark, sneak on them, and shoot them.

catch it and relocate it or skin it and throw it on the pit. I know a way to get it out of its hole if it goes in and "puffs up". No matter how hard you pull on its tail it wont come out. You would probably yank its tail off before getting it to budge. To get an armadillo out of its hole when its puffed up you have to get a thin sturdy stick lift its tail then stick the stick up the armadillos Arse. This will cause it to tense up then yank it out of the whole.

Then are a FUN to catch, if i see one around you better believe im going after it. Usually just catch them then let them go. They are not blind

Get a bottle of good whiskey, a comfortable camp chair, something to snack on, and a spotlight. Put the spotlight in your closet, put the chair in your garage, give the snacks to your kids, and drink the whiskey. Then go the the widder's house at night with a 44 mag. When the little sucker shows up, cap him.
Seriously, set a small box trap near the hole, baited with peanut butter. If the fireants don't devour everything, the dillo should go for it. Most animals love the fats (oils) in peanut butter.

Read Texas by James Michener if you want to know how to get rid a diller.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

It sounds dumb but old limes in a live trap have worked for me. I've caught 3 now.

People on here have been asking that question for awhile. I'm still here.

That critter will come out when the sun goes down. If she has a vapor lamp he will work his way over there to eat bugs. Just a little patience and quiet and he'll walk right out in front of you.

22 works wonders. Just be sure to pop him in the head or there is a chance he'll run back up under the house and stink.
