Probably depends on how much predator hunting one does and how much money is laying around at teh time. LOL

I know guys that spend thousands on NV scopes and high end rifles and some that use a cheap BSA or Barska with a cheap 17HMR. If most of your shots will be low light or at night and you dont op to go with NV a little bit better quality optic and lower magnification is your best bet. The cheap scopes dont tend to be near as clear and brite as some of the more expensive scopes. I used a Primary Arms 1-4x24 this past weekend while spotlighting out to about 125 yards and it worked great ! Its basicly a clone of the Millett DMS without the doughnut reticle. If your going to be shooting during the day and past 250-300 yards or so I would suggest something in the 4-16x range.

I use my Trijicon ACOG. I didn't buy it for my predator hunting, but I found that it works well. It is kind of expensive though at $1250
