It has allready turned brown and dried up. Big time fire hazzards with several spots burned allready. Might want to start feeding early this year. This could be a good season, as the deer will hit the feeders hard. It has been this way for a couple weeks. All my alfalfa was gone even the moldy stuff. I am going to double up on bales.

Gettin like that in Val Verde County, stuff still looks somewhat green but you get up close and it is drying out.

Put 100 lbs of protein in a tub in my front yard two days ago, 50 lbs is gone already.

i hunt 320 acers in concho county. our deer have been eating 750# of protein every two weeks.

Dang mbavo you are going to have some mutant bucks this year. I see lots of deer out there.

Have you seen any evidence of what the acorns will do this year?

No I haven't paid much attention. I will be having a firewood party soon and will check it out. I cut each years firewood from dead branches and cut out the cedars and trash underneath the oaks. As much effort as I put into it I should probably keep some kind of record/progress.
