I want to buy a good spotlight that I can plug into a truck and drive around the lease at night and shine for critters. Any suggestions?

I have used a Qbeam, they work ok. But recently most of our lease members have switched to a Cyclops. I have also used Lightforce spotlights, which are great if you want to spend over $100.

I just bought a Stanley HDI Spotlight from Lowes it is the brights one I have ever seen. It was just $70. People on a spotlight forum was ranting and raving about them. It is a very bright white light, but I made a red filter plexi-glass lens for it. Works great and still shines way out there. You should check them out. They are cordless and comes with both a AC and DC plugs. They work with the DC car plug pluged in too, but not the AC plug.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

cheap Qbeam for scanning (I've even gone smaller over the years and scan with a Surefire light)..and a cyclops to properly ID target.

Is there a difference between LEDs and bulbs other than run time on the battery?

Like the coleman LED goes for 2.5 hours on a full charge while xeon on halogen bulbs go for 20 to 40 minutes.

Is the 530 lumens of the coleman's enough?

they work fine for scanning. They are bright as heck up close (50yds or so) then they fade quick.

from my observations, specifically with that light you mentioned...Yes. I do keep one under the backseat of the truck b/c of the battery life though.
