Are these rifles just decorations or do they have value? Saw a Texas Cattlemans rifle and they are beautiful but do you shoot them or look at them? Do they retain value? Thanks

Lots of different commemorative pieces around out there, and I wish mine were unfired but they aren't. You can get different answers but many like their unique guns to remain unfired. The values may be based on an accepted range for that model or simply what the interested market makes it when you are dealing with one.

But unless one is clearly a reproduction for display only, these are working firearms and will operate as others. Darn, I'm sure I "need" that Cattleman in my pile!

I have absolutely no idea how anyone can own a gun and never shoot it. I don't have tons of money, that may be why, but I couldn't own a firearm and NOT shoot it. I just couldn't, so, as far as myself, "unfired" means "I aint owned it". Commemoratives mean nothing to me. They only mean more to people that never intend to shoot it and want to pay more for an "unfired". I know a lot of people that are turned off on commemoratives, would rather have a regular one.
