 Finally Broke Through!!

Well I finally made it happen. Was sitting in my pop up at about 7:15 this evening and this sow and a group of piglets came in. I was really nervous and didn't put a perfect shot on her but she didn't make it far regardless. Beside coons this is my first bow kill. Pretty excited!!  this ones kinda blurry but you get the point

Thats my new bow!! I haven't done a review on it in the thread yet but I will. Its an 09 PSE X force GX 6 (and yes that is the entire name). It is the predecessor to the Omen as it has the GX cams and not the newer UF cams. Still a sweet shooter and very fast. 386 gr arrow at 319 FPS pulling only 61 lbs.

Nice hog and cool photo. How far was the shot? If they get real close, I get so excited I throw up in my mouth a little...but I have issues.

Thanks man. You can always tell when its pigs coming in because they sound like people walking. No regard for making noise, breaking sticks left and right just like we do when we aren't paying attention.

It's not too hard to pop an unsuspecting hog in the dark with NV equipment. If conditions are right, it's not really that hard to get within bow range. But drawing on a hog 20 yards is much more thrilling than taking one at that range with even a pistol or shotgun. So many things can interfere with a bow shot. It's my preferred weapon even though I use other weapons more often.
