Going to do a hog hunt in Cooper, Tx. and look at a deer lease. Has anyone ever hunted in Cooper before?

I hunted there when I went to good old East Texas State. When I was there in 98 I think the hog population was 1,000,000 or more. Had a shoot at a deer that would go around 135 P&Y and missed. A friend of mine killed it the next week and I think it went 139 P&Y. It was the lake record. We saw many deer that would score over the 140 around the lake. We use to boat in from the river find them, stalk them, murder them. It was fun times. Hunt, fish, drink beer and go to class, if we had enough time.

We dove hunt on a friends place East of Charleston, which is just a few miles N.E. of Cooper. One evening we saw a pretty good number of hogs crossing the place.
