Once during late dove season I got to deer camp with my 2-sided gun-case, that usually has a shotgun in one side and a rifle in the other, only to find a 20 and a 12-guage. I'd been duck hunting the previous day and swapped out the rifle for the 12-guage. Didn't even have a box of slugs.
When I was about 13 I was what got forgotten at deer camp. My parents and my aunt and uncle each thought I was with the other when they all pulled out, heading in different directions. I wandered into an empty camp at dusk, way before cell-phones were even thought of. We had water, cold drinks, and snacks in camp, and I had my .308 and a box of shells. I spent four days living off Dr. Pepper, Doritos, Moon Pies, and badly mangled squirrels and rabbits spit-roasted on coat-hangers. I missed a day of school in the process so it worked out OK. I'd never wish that upon a kid to have to go through, but that is one awesome story to have Also pretty good ammo when you need to get outta trouble with mom and pop!

Forgot the keys to the gate once, had to hop the 8' chain link fence and walk a mile in the pouring rain to get the spare set from the barn. Haven't done that again.

My buddy was kicked off a pro staff once because I forgot the video camera. I felt bad for him. It was my fault. I ended up leaving the staff of my own accord.
My father inlaw forgot his ammo once, his rifle another time, and his clothes another time. Where we hunt in Montana it's a 4 or 5 hour drive. He had to wear everyone else's stuff. We expect he's going to forget something. It's kind of a tradition at this point.

TOOLS I was actually loading my shotgun and it got jammed. I need a screwdriver to get the thing apart so I could get the shell out. I did not have a screwdriver, even my leatherman would not work. I do not leave home without tools. Once I got home it took me 5 minutes to fix it.

The day after my Nephew was born I went to see him at the hospital and drove straight to Oklahoma;
Parked the truck walked in and before I could even get to the stand a HUGE 10point hopped the fence chasing a doe and one shot from the.270 dropped him.
I walked up as excited as could be, looked him over and then went to field dress him....."$hit wheres my knife!"
No knife in my pocket, pack, truck or toolbox and I have 200+lbs buck on the ground; after alot of grunting and horn pulling I finally loaded him up and drove to town and borrowed th DULLEST shrade known to man to clean and cape that buck.
My pack now has a knife, I carry a pocket knife EVERY WHERE now capable of doing the job, the trucks got one as well a spare.

I am usually rushing to the lease straight from work and I can actually say that I don't think there has been a time in 5 years that I didn't forget something!!!

forgot my ammo bag once, had both my rifles but no gun, typically i leave 3 in the mag of my .270 but i had taken them out for some reason. I had one of those streatchy ammo holders on my .22-250 so that saved the day.
now I keep a box of hornady at the ranch.
I used to leave my rifles down at the ranch, one weekend i decided to take them home, the next week our cabin was broken into an a shotgun and pistol were stolen
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I've went out to the lease and forgot to bring a knife along. Usually it got left on my desk at work or in one of the drawers. A little store down the road sold the ones for key chains for $100, so I have 10 or so of them laying around. Only went off w/o bullets once and that was because I went to my dad's lease in his truck and forgot I had taken the clip out of my 300wm and put it in my console. Luckily my lease was just down the road, so I went and grabbed a few bullets I had stored in a dry storage compartment on my 4wheeler and made it back to sit on the stand before daylight.

Drove to my lease after the season to pick up my camper and had the wrong size ball on my drop hitch. I left the one I needed at home.

Drove from Dallas to Meridian and forgot my rifle. Bought a new case for it the day before and when I left that next morning, I grabbed the old case.

When I was staioned in Phoenix, a friend and I drove to northern AZ for a week of mullie hunting. This was the one time he forgot his spare truck key to leave at camp and somehow we locked the keys in the truck. After we desprately tried to get in using a piece of wire we found, his wife had to drive 4hrs one way at 10 at night to bring us the spare set of keys. She was not happy....

I went up to run a few cats and was just about to my hunting spot when I realized I forgot my dogs..lol For any type of big game hunting, I've found that I'm more successful if I forget something. (knife, camera, ???) During our fall bear season, its usually pretty warm out so, every once in awhile, I just plan to go look around and don't figure on getting anything so I wear shorts. Every single time, I kill a bear in a blackberry patch and turn my legs to hamburger.
