Anyone ever had trouble with their safes? I opened mine last Saturday to make a "deposit"
I picked up another pistola on Sunday and tried to open it but couldnt. I tried again last night thinking I was just having a bad day and it still wouldnt open. I've opened this safe flawlessly for 6 years. I'm about to panic!!!!

My wife has that same trouble. I tell her I'll open it when I get home. Don't need to flaunt anything new in front of her.
My wife must be a cross between a Indian and a bulldog. When she's not on the warpath, she's sitting on her butt growling.
We're burnin daylite.

I really think something happened internally with the tumblers or something. I've never had a problem opening it.

My wife's only thing is it can't stare at her when she is eating or sleeping!

So exactly what,s it doing. Have you tried pushing real hard inward while trying to open? If the door is in a bind it will be hard to open.

On my safe, when you finish dialing in your combo the dial will "deadstop" and then you can open the safe. The dial will not deadstop after I dial in the combo.

Make sure you spin the dial four or five times before you start with the combo. That was the problem with mine when it locked me out one time. Good Luck.

Id hate to have to drill a hole in it from the back. I have about 35 rifles in a 24 gun safe and the door is covered with a hanging pisol apron. I'm not sure how they would access the lock. Maybe they can pick it?

On mine if the handle or whatever you call that thing you turn with all of the chrome knobs on it to clear the bolts is turned to the stop the wrong way the mechanical tumbler will jamb. I was told by my safe company if it jambs to turn the handle the other way and reread my print or enter my combo again, and this would free it up. The way they make the tumblers now that a 9 volt battery has the juice to clear them it doesn't take much to bind them up. Try the combo with the bolt to the right, and then to the left to see if that clears the tumblers.

My local locksmith told me to drop down a couple of numbers on my codes or up. Example if your code starts with 75 try 73 and likewize for the others. I have a canon that is 25 plus years and that is what I had to do about 3 years ago.

If it's not just the battery being low, you can call Cannon and they can give you an over-ride code that will work. (assuming it's that type of lock anyway)

On my Liberty safe, after I dial the last number I have to reverse the dial until it locks, then I can open the safe.

Try reducing your middle number by 1. I had the same problem called and they said it was due to me spinning the tumblers to fast, and I shoud try combo with the middle number reduced by 1 and it worked. that was a year ago and its still works. Hope this helps.

Try holding the handle to the right while entering the combination. I had a problem and Canons tech support said to try that and it worked.

Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

I worked on some GSA class safes and if the locks failed you have to strap a saw to it and cut into it. But if the mechanism is good a good locksmith can get in it. I saw some safes get burned in a fire and they had to saw into all of them... Not pretty

I've cut a cannon safe open with a cutting oxygen/acetelyne rig before.
